Trevor James is currently working with a firm of accountants in North Worcestershire looking to add an assistant manager to their accounts team.

The main responsibilities of the tax assistant manager will be:
- Provide a high level of client service to all clients
- Deal with complex tax matters with an international aspect
- Liaise with internal teams (Accounts, Business Management & payroll) to ensure client affairs are co-ordinated and delivered on time
- Identify opportunities for any additional services that clients may need and liaise with subject specialists
- Manage and navigate HMRC enquiries on behalf of the client
- Manage a portfolio of clients and take responsibility to ensure compliance
- Provide guidance and assistance to junior members of the team
- Take responsibility of the billing of clients within your portfolio and associated debt collection
- Participate in internal tax technical training sessions
The ideal tax assistant manager will have:
- Have a professional qualification (CTA or equivalent) - a private client background would be preferable
- Ability to undertake technical tax research and reach conclusions to communicate complex concepts to clients
- The ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic team
- Experience in reviewing self-assessment tax returns
- Excellent organisational skills to manage workloads, monitor time charges and budgets
- Committed to maintaining technical knowledge to a high level
- Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
- Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios
- Organisation and ability to work under pressure with accuracy and focus
