If you’re currently operating at Senior level and starting to take on more responsibility — reviewing work, supporting juniors, getting involved in advisory — but not quite being recognised for it… this could be the move.
I’m working with a growing, specialist firm that offers something different to the traditional practice model. The work is fast-paced, highly client-focused, and involves exposure to complex, high-value financial affairs.
This is an opportunity to step into an Assistant Manager role where you’ll play a key part in both client delivery and team development.
The role
You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of clients while supporting senior leadership on more complex matters and helping to guide junior members of the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring all tax compliance obligations are met
- Reviewing personal tax returns and ensuring accuracy and quality of work
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, handling queries and building relationships
- Supporting on advisory work and more complex tax matters
- Liaising with internal teams to ensure a seamless client service
- Reviewing and delegating work to junior team members
- Supporting with training, mentoring and development of junior staff
- Managing deadlines and prioritising work effectively in a fast-paced environment

- Strong experience in personal tax within practice
- ATT / CTA qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Confident managing client relationships
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive, commercially aware approach
