The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll support the day-to-day finance function while assisting with the continued development of financial processes across the Group.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing purchase ledger invoices and supplier reconciliations
- Managing sales ledger and supporting credit control activities
- Bank reconciliations and cash postings
- Preparing payment runs
- Processing employee expenses
- Assisting with month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Supporting VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements
- Producing financial reports and analysis
- Maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities
- Supporting continuous improvement projects within the finance function
- Providing wider finance support as the business continues to grow
About You
We're looking for an organised and motivated finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to build a long-term career.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant position
- A solid understanding of transactional finance
- Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
- A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of your work
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience working within an SME or multi-entity environment would be advantageous, although not essential.
- Candidates studying towards AAT or an accountancy qualification are encouraged to apply.
